| An explanation and an apology I enjoy making cycling photographs that show action, but the risk in selecting an action situation is that I may miss the shot. Sometimes I can't get the focus quickly enough, and sometimes I miss the rider entirely. On the Tour de Cashiers I missed some people and some of my shots were not perfectly focused. Some were also a bit dark, because I was going for the fastest shutter speed I could. Some of these problems can be corrected in printing. The photographs I've selected to display should all print well, even if they are a bit off here. (In some group shots there may be some people who will be out of focus. ) To those of you who I missed, I'm sorry. Keep riding and I'll keep photographing, and hopefully we'll connect soon. |

Norton Road is about 5 miles from the finish of the 25, 50 and 75 mile routes.
On Yellow Mountain Road I shot from two spots. The first was flat, next to a lake. The second was on a fast descent on the 100 and a long climb on the 50 and 75. This is about 10 miles from the finish of the 50 and 75 and about 6 miles from the finish of the 100.
